Street / Road Naming

Under Section 162.1 of the Roads Act 1993, Great Lakes Council has the authority to name and number all public roads for which it is the authority. On 9 March, 2004 Council adopted a Street/Road Naming Policy to comply with the Guidelines for the Naming of Roads, published by the Geographical Names Board of NSW, and to fulfil obligations as a road naming authority under the Roads Act 1993.
