The attached pages contain all of Council's adopted Strategies, Studies and Structure Plans. A strategic plan outlines a vision for the future and a strategy to achieve it.Strategic plans sit at the top of the planning hierarchy and sets the overall "big picture" approach with consistent aims, objectives and guiding principles. These aims, objectives and principles then guide the development of local Development Controls - Local Environmental Plans and Development Control Plans. Great Lakes Rural Living Strategy (2004) [Adopted 9 March 2004] - Published: 27 Sep 2005The Rural Living Strategy provides a future direction for the settlements and land within the rural areas of the Great Lakes local government area. more .. Forster/Tuncurry Conservation & Development Strategy (2003) [Adopted 25 June 2003] - Published: 12 Sep 2005 In order to plan for the long-term future of the Great Lakes, this strategy has been prepared with the aim of ensuring a sustainable approach to land use planning and management. more .. Tea Gardens/Hawks Nest Conservation & Development Strategy (2003) [Adopted 14 October 2003] - Published: 12 Sep 2005 Council decided to start the rezoning process for several large development sites in the early and mid 1990s. more .. Housing Strategy for Forster/Tuncurry (Adopted 12 December 2006) - Published: 28 Feb 2007 Council adopted the Housing Strategy for Forster/Tuncurry subject to amendments on 12 December 2006. The most significant amendments relate to the future investigation of rezonings on the corner of Lake & Hadley Street; in the Fairways Precinct; and adjoining Stocklands. more .. Tea Gardens/Hawks Nest Housing Strategy (adopted November 2006) - Published: 15 Dec 2006 Tea Gardens/Hawks Nest is an environmentally sensitive coastal location with a range of constraints affecting future housing development. Taking this into consideration, and in light of recent growth being experience by the area, Council has prepared the Tea Gardens/Hawks Nest Housing Strategy. The preparation of a housing strategy was also a requirement of the Department of Planning as part of it's conditional endorsement of Council's 'Tea Gardens/Hawks Nest Conservation and Development Strategy'. more .. South Forster Structure Plan (adopted by Council February 2007) - Published: 02 Mar 2007 Council has prepared a Structure Plan for South Forster. The Structure Plan generally covers the vacant land on both sides of The Lakes Way south from the existing built area of South Forster through to Booti Booti National Park. more .. Urban Design & Density Review Forster/Tuncurry and Tea Gardens/Hawks Nest (Adopted 22 July 2008) - Published: 13 Aug 2008 The Forster/Tuncurry & Tea Gardens/Hawks Nest Urban Design and Density Review Background Report, prepared by City Plan Urban Design, has been prepared as a follow-on from the Housing Strategies for Forster/Tuncurry and Tea Gardens/Hawks Nest. more .. Adopted VPA - SMB Developments - LEP 45 - Seven Mile - Published: 02 Mar 2007 SMB Developments made an offer to Great Lakes Council in mid 2006 to enter into a Voluntary Planning Agreement in connection with Draft Great Lakes Local Environmental Plan – Amendment No. 45.
LEP Amendment No.45 was gazetted on 23 February 2007. The Agreement was adopted by Council on 27 February 2007. more ..
Great Lakes Council adopted the draft Local Environmental Study for Lot 15 DP 713933 Carmona Drive, South Forster on 12th August 2008.
